Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is medical laser?
A. A permanent hair reduction that is great for everyone fair skinned, dark skinned, or tanned.
Q. How does the laser treatment work?
A. The laser creates a beam of high intensity light that penetrates deep into the skin tissue where it delivers a controlled amount of targeted theraputic heat.
Q. What can I expect during the treatment?
A. You will wear safety eyewear to protect your eyes from the laser light. The practioner will guide the laser to the treatment areas with a small hand held probe. Each laser pulse may be preceded and followed by a short pulse of cooling spray. A treatment can take as little as a few minutes to as long as an hour depending on the area and the condition being treated.
Q. How many treatment sessions will I need?
A. The number of sessions depends on the treatment you require and the condition of your skin. For hair removal, multiple treatment are required, as the process is only effective when the hair follicle is in its active growth phase.
Q. How do I prepare for treatment?
A. Patients scheduled for hair removal should avoid tweezing, electrolysis or hair waxing for six weeks prior to treatment. Any hair should be completely removed by shaving and your skin should be throughly cleaned and dried, removing any makeup, creams, oils, or topical anethetics on its surface before laser treatment.
Q. What can I expect after treatment?
A. A cool compress or gel pack may be applied for comfort following your treatment, also applying sunblock (SPF 30 or higher) prior to going outdoors
